Simon Jackson

Survey Consultant



Following his work as a farm hand on various dry land and irrigation farms, Simon began full-time employment in 1990 with M.F-G Shaw & Associate Pty Ltd, now SMK Consultants.  His experience covers such areas as Cadastral Surveying including subdivision of property boundaries both rural and urban, also survey, design and supervision of small to large civil engineering projects.  


These projects include survey and design of small to large residential developments including the design of roads, stormwater, sewerage and water supply systems, to large flood irrigation developments for the growing of cotton and Cereal crops.


Simon has been involved in surveying since 1987 and has been in a senior role at SMK Consultants since 2005.  Simon completes engineering and design jobs for a range of clients including local councils, various state government departments including Department of Education, Teacher Housing, Housing Commission, Roads and Maritime Services, State Property and Public Works, small business, companies and individuals.  His work includes:


  • Cadastral Surveys including urban and rural subdivisions, boundary remarks and identification surveys.  Subdivision planning including development applications and town planning.  Survey and setting out of buildings, bridges, bulk grain handling complexes, Consulting Expertisegins, subdivisions and road works.

  • Survey and Design of road works, stormwater drainage, water supply systems and sewerage reticulation systems for subdivisions. Design of road works and intersections for local councils and the Roads and Maritime Authority NSW.  Survey set out and checking of engineering works and road works.

  • Survey and Design of Irrigation farms, including design of land levelling, supply channels, tail water returns, storage dams and pipe work.  

  • Analysis of Stormwater runoff including design of storm water drainage schemes for subdivisions and irrigation farms.
